Хотелось бы узнать, будет ли работать FreeBSD на нем? Вообще сомнения есть в поддержке  ServeRAID-7t режим зеркалирования, кто-нибудь пробовал работоспособность? И еще интересно если поставить FreeBSD 64 будет ли работать?

1) очень странное решение - взять IBM, чтобы ставить на него FreeBSD
вот тут вы немного найдете http://www.freebsd.org/releases/5.3R/hardware.html

Следует спрашивать спецов по IBM, что из себя представляет IBM ServeRAID-7t S-ATA.


2) У FreeBSD нет поддержки 64b расширений Интел для P4.

1. Там как раз написано
Since mid-2003 FreeBSD/amd64 has supported the AMD64 (``Hammer'') and Intel EM64T architecture, and is now one of the Tier-1 platforms (fully supported architecture), which are expected to be Production Quality with respects to all aspects of the FreeBSD operating system, including installation and development environments.

Note that there are two names for this architecture, AMD64 (AMD) and Intel EM64T (Extended Memory 64-bit Technology). 64-bit mode of the two architectures are almost compatible with each other, and FreeBSD/amd64 should support the both.
так что работать по идеи будет.
2. IBM и Фря потому что так сложилось исторически что все на Фре, и переделывать все нет большой надобности,IBM потому что просто хорошая компания А есть еще идеи? HP и SUN уже рассматривал и ничего не подобрал.
3. К спецам обратился, но пока ответ не пришел, дозвонится и пообщатся тоже как-то не получается. Что касается поддержки именно этого девайса есть сомнения т.к. в ips.c были найдены описания след. версий
